The Thirteen Desserts of Provence
January 2, 2011
There is a Provencial tradition of serving certain desserts around the holidays. In this picture are some of those desserts or “bon-bons”/candies. There are candied chestnuts – “marrons glaces;” a candy called “callisons;” “navettes” – oblong cookies; “pates de fruits” – fruit candies; dates stuffed with marzipan; and chocolates. Also the French serve nougat also among their special Provencial desserts. They are all yum!
